Vida
Hi, I’m Vida. I am a peer support worker for CMHA and I’m so happy to be in a role where I can use my lived experience with mental health challenges to help others feel hopeful and know they’re not alone. In my journey, I was given so much support from organizations like CMHA, and I’m grateful to give back to others. I try to bring a bright, warm, empathetic energy into everything I do, so that others feel safe and welcome. Outside of work, I love reading and playing video games!
Vida leads the following groups:
- Drop-in
- YMCA in Markham on Thursdays
- Scattegories
- CHWB – Yoga with Isabelle in Aurora
- CHWB – Inner Critic to Inner Cheerleader
- New Member Orientation
- The Poetry Corner
- Your Voice Matters
- Movie Friday in Aurora

What is a Peer Support Worker?
A Peer Support Worker is someone who has their own lived experience with mental health or addiction challenges – and uses that experience to support others on their recovery journey. They work alongside you to build confidence, foster independence, and connect you with community and resources. Through social, educational, and recreational programs, they help you feel welcome and less alone.
