Sara
Hi, I’m Sara. I work as a Peer Support Specialist and Mental Health Educator with CMHA in the Community Connections and CMHA College of Health & Well-Being programs. I bring my own lived experience and believe in the importance of having a place where you can feel seen, heard, and safe — a space where you can just be yourself, without judgment or pressure, and take things at your own pace. Outside of work, I love going for walks and long hikes while listening to my 70s music playlist. It’s one of the ways I care for myself and stay grounded.
Sara leads the following groups:
- CHWB – Support for Anxiety
- CHWB – Support for Depression
- CHWB – Photography for Reflection and Wellbeing
- New Member Orientation
- Drop-In
- Rise and Shine Seniors Group

What is a Peer Support Worker?
A Peer Support Worker is someone who has their own lived experience with mental health or addiction challenges – and uses that experience to support others on their recovery journey. They work alongside you to build confidence, foster independence, and connect you with community and resources. Through social, educational, and recreational programs, they help you feel welcome and less alone.
