(Newmarket, Wednesday September 7th, 2016) – On Saturday, Sept. 10, Rebecca Shields, CEO of Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) York South Simcoe will be available to speak to the media about strategies to help reduce the risk of suicide and services available to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the local community.
The media availability coincides with World Suicide Prevention Day, a global initiative aimed at increasing awareness and breaking the silence about suicide.
The increased profile of suicide prevention created by World Suicide Prevention Day also gives CMHA an opportunity to share information about the expertise, services and programs it provides in communities across Ontario who may be experiencing a mental health issue or illness.
