MOBYSS Virtual Clinics

From October through to the end of the year, MOBYSS, Ontario’s only mobile health clinic for youth will be providing free, online drop-in clinics.

Run by the Canadian Mental Health Association, York Region & South Simcoe, the MOBYSS bus is normally a well-recognized sight on our community streets (or on the streets of York Region & South Simcoe). But the COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a shift in the way the clinic-on-wheels provides services to local youth.

The new online clinics don’t require an appointment or health card, and are completely free of charge. Running every Thursday afternoon from 1.30 until 4pm, young people aged 12-25 can join via Zoom, where they will be directed to a completely private ‘breakout room’, to be seen by a counsellor, peer support worker or Nurse Practitioner.

The clinic supports York Region youth with health concerns ranging from anxiety and depression, to social concerns such as bullying or isolation, to physical health questions that any of us might typically see a doctor to address. The privacy and confidentiality of the innovative service ensures that young people can have their health questions answered in a supportive and judgment free environment.

There will be no clinics on October 22, November 19 and December 24.

Anyone wanting to drop in to the clinic can do so at the following link:
