Meet Claire

Clinical Lead, Assertive Community Treatment Team (SW)

Claire’s advice and inspiration for others

Always be patient and kind with ourselves and others. We all encounter challenges and setbacks. By practicing self-compassion, we allow ourselves space to learn from our mistakes and build resilience. Practicing self-compassion also helps to relieve anxiety and stress, enhances our self-esteem, and fosters stronger, healthier relationships with those around us.

Claire’s most rewarding accomplishment at CMHA

After working at CMHA for 6 years it’s difficult to pinpoint just one! My favourite moments are when I can see the positive impact I have had on someone’s recovery journey.

Why Claire enjoys working at CMHA

One of the biggest reasons I love working at CMHA is because of my incredible team. I work with the most amazing people who make it a pleasure to come to work each day. We all support and uplift each other and there is not a day that goes by that isn’t filled with happiness and laughter.

How the Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) supports our community

The Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) provides intensive support to adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness, such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder and bipolar disorder. The ACTT program has the opportunity to work with clients for a longer period of time than many other programs, so we have the opportunity to get to know our clients well and build trusting and meaningful relationships with them. We work closely with our clients to build resiliency, increase independence, reduce hospitalizations, help them manage their symptoms and build life skills.
