Penny’s advice/inspiration for others
You are worthy of belonging. By virtue of being human, you are enough. Do not be afraid to take risks; especially if it will mean you becoming the fullest, most free version of yourself. Life was not meant to be lived in isolation; reach out; have compassion and empathy for those around you and especially yourself. You are worthy!
Penny’s favourite moment at CMHA
The moments I have treasured the most are the times where I hear the joy return to a client’s voice especially when they realize they did most of the inner work. Seeing a Newcomer to Canada living their dreams out loud whether through school or finding employment has also been a delight. Our Halloween costume team retreat (2020) was one for the books – so much fun, deep conversations and games!
Why Penny enjoys working at CMHA
CMHA not only talks the talk but walks the walk in valuing mental health of both clients and staff alike. The company puts the client at the front, and center of all decisions that are made both at a macro and micro level. The bottom line is always, Is this decision in the best interest of the client? I have really enjoyed working alongside an amazing team – we are a small but mighty team. Thank you Newcomer team for bringing passion to the work.
