Telephone-Based Supportive Counselling

Here at CMHA, we know that these are uncertain times, and that you and those you care about may be feeling increased levels of worry or anxiety.

Beginning today, we have redeployed staff to provide telephone-based supportive counselling to our community, to support people experiencing higher level of stress and anxiety due to COVID-19 and the impact that adapting to new social circumstances is having on their daily lives.

This service will be available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

How it works:

  1. Anyone can call our general line: 1-866-345-0183 (if this line is busy, please call 905-841-3977)
  2. The call will either be picked up by our friendly administration staff, or you can leave a message with your name and phone number
  3. Our admin team will provide that information to one of our trained clinical staff to return the call and provide support
  4. The staff who are dedicated to this service are social workers, clinical therapists, and occupational therapists.

Our offices may be closed, but we are here to support the York Region and South Simcoe community.

This program is currently in a testing phase, and we will be monitoring the number of calls received and will deploy more resources to this service as necessary.

Please note: Our central intake line is still operating as normal and is continuing to accept referrals

Please note that this is not a crisis service. You can be expected to connected with a clinical worker within 24 business hours. If you are in a crisis situation, please call 310-COPE or proceed to your nearest emergency room.
