The Community Safety and Wellbeing (CSWB) Plan

The Community Safety and Wellbeing (CSWB) Plan for York Region will help build strong, caring and safe communities for all residents. The CWSB Plan is being developed in consultation with residents, community organizations, local municipalities, York Regional Police and other stakeholders.

Strategies are being developed to support residents and agencies to make positive changes in the Central Newmarket and South-Central Richmond Hill area that focuses on mental well-being and housing stability. The initiative is being led by the Canadian Mental Health Association, York Region and South Simcoe (CMHA-YRSS) and funded by the Regional Municipality of York and the United Way Greater Toronto.

By establishing a Plan for York Region, we can:

  • Enhance collaboration and partnership with local municipalities, community agencies and residents.
  • Support community development and resource mobilization in areas of highest opportunity in York Region.
Our goal is to achieve a community where everyone is safe, has a sense of belonging, opportunities to participate, and where individuals and families are able to meet their needs for education, health care, food, housing, income, and social and cultural expression.
